Edit-warring over the primary topic
I count over a dozen reverted edits in the
page history with over 55 revisions, yet see no discussion started here – until now.
Yes, I understand that there has been a trademark battle between Kerala and Karnataka, which Kerala claims to have "won". But Karnataka has said it has not yet received the order.[1][2]
Sometimes the subject of an article will undergo a change of name. When this occurs, we give extra weight to
independent, reliable English-language sources ("reliable sources") written after the name change. If the reliable sources written after the change is announced routinely use the new name, Wikipedia should follow suit and change relevant titles to match. If, on the other hand, reliable sources written after the name change is announced continue to use the established name, Wikipedia should continue to do so as well
The Hindu, which is presumably still a respected reliable source, is still using "KSRTC" in a headline about bus service to
Mangaluru International Airport, as of November 01, 2022, to refer to Karnataka (which is where the airport is located).
The time for edit-warring is over. There should be a discussion here, or on a page linked from here, to gain a consensus to establish a primary topic for KSRTC. –

Wbm1058:Hai, Kerala is the trade mark owner of KSRTC by court order, I attach some of the news explicitly stating the same.
From the first news item listed above: "The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has decided to explore all legal options and challenge the recent order of the Central Registrar of Trademarks in favour of Kerala Road Transport Corporation to exclusively use the acronym ‘KSRTC’." What is the status of their legal challenge? Has Karnataka announced an end to their challenge? Have they announced a new acronym or name they will use instead?
More helpful would be how the press currently, in 2022 and 2023 news reports, names the Karnataka corporation. Obviously they call the Kerala corporation "KSRTC" as they have been for a long time and will continue to.
Something I didn't note before – there are three Karnataka corporations:
NEKRTC/
KKRTC,
NWKRTC, and KSRTC. Have the Northeast or Northwest Karnataka corporations also been parties in the trademark dispute? A couple of obvious solutions come to my mind now. The southern Karnataka corporation could just drop "State" from their name, as the northern corporations have:
Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (
KRTC). Or add "South":
South Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (
SKRTC). Have either of these options been proposed? Would these names be acceptable to Kerala?
