I have done some minor copy editing of this page and removed some excessive and irrelevant material. I removed the list of co-edited books and publications for now as the list seems is too long, I left the list of her published books. If the journals are to be re-added it should be only a small number of the most important ones (top 5 by number of times cited for example). I also removed the paragraph about her books from the lead as this is mentioned in later in the article.
The main improvements the article needs now is more references and in-line citations. The Career and overview of works section also needs copy editing and either split into more subsections or considerable reduced in size. Sarahj2107 ( talk) 22:36, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you so very much Sarah! I will keep working on it but already have inserted some more references. The article is based on a CV and biographical essay Judith Lorber sent to me, not much can be found online -- that is why it is important to have a Wikipedia entry :-) I have slightly restructured the "career and works" section and inserted topical subheadings. Much gratitude to YOU for your edits and I am looking forward to other users adding to the page! Danijauk 15:22, 5 November 2012 (UTC) I have re-inserted a very small selection of co-edited books because they are important contributions to the field of gender studies and standard reading in most (sociology of gender) classes. 99.126.173.31 ( talk) 01:15, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
