According to the 《Chronicles of Joseon dynasty》, in 1623, 26 years later from the end of Imjin War, the famous "Coup of King In-Jo" occurred, with new King In-Jo enthroned by this Coup. In this Coup, the backbone of the rebellion army was the Gap-Sa, especially the Chak-Ho Gap-Sa (Tiger Huter Gap-Sa). In fact, the rebel forces bribed the Gap-Sa regiments who have been guarding the royal palace to join the revellion side to be backbone of their rebellious army for the success of the coup.
From this historical fact, we can recognize that Gap-Sa was not disbanded or abolished during the Imjin War time.
According to the official dialog of King Seon-Jo with his subjects, which is written in the 《Joseon Chronicles of the volume of regime of Seon-Jo》, the establishment of Hun-Ryeon-Do-Gam, the one of 5 Military Camps of future, had the "temporary" purpose to "supplement" the existing 5 Wi. And the name of "도감 都監 Do-Gam" out of the full name of the organization "훈련도감 訓練都監Hun-Ryeon-Do-Gam" also conventinally means "temporary govern institute" at that time.
It means, king Seon-Jo never had the intention to replace all the existing 5 Wi, but just had the intention to supplement the weakness of existing system. The establishent of the first Military Camp, Hun-Ryeon-Do-Gam, out of the 5 Gun-Yeongs of the future, had come from the King's intention to "Temporarily Supplement" the weakness of the Central Army 5 Wi only for during Imjin War. So the conclusion is, King Seon-Jo didn't abolish 5 Wis and even didn't replace the existing military system the 5 Wi with the 5 Military Commands(?) which is fated to be completely facilitated 150 years later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.215.190 ( talk) 02:04, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

I think a distinction has to be made of the army ranks from the early, mid and late Joseon dynasty, as the Japanese invasions led to massive reforms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.215.190 ( talk) 00:36, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

I need to know when the Northwestern Frontier Provincial Deployment Army (서북병 배치 지방군) and the Royal Provincial Army (각지 근왕병) were established.
I think the translations NFPDA & RPA are not good, it would be better to change them. They sound like they were Google translated, unnatural, and they even provoke confusions.
