Doubt as you may. you can see his personal web page at www.goodpaddle.com and note that I am the web master. You can see my personal page at www.davestockwell.com. you can reach me via email at dstockw@onebox.com. I can provide proof of the relationship AND can put you in direct contact with him, at his home, in Texas. i am simply attempting to follow the process for deletion and help my uncle with his request. Well known once in a very small arena long time ago. Now he's just a retired computer support manager who wishes to paddle the rivers of Texas in peace. He'd have me remove all internet references to him if I could but you know my chances on that. I'd simply like to place the del tag in the article and let the Wikiadmins take a look at it. Unless you have another suggestion. I'm fairly new at this. Posting as a VFD. See also discussion with Sherurcij. Sorry, I didn't mean to break rules. Am not familiar with Wikipedia.
What was up before about me was inaccurate. What is up now is accurate.
Am not sure of the context of your reference. I went through training, then served 3 tours in Africa (Cote D'Ivoire, Katanga, Burundi). Then a tour at Hqrs with some travel, working "against" the younger Gadafi. Then Vietnam, coming out with the fnal evacuation. Then back at Hqrs, with travel to Africa and Europe, managing the Angola War.
I was by no means "the highest ranking CIA case officer to go public." CIA director Admiral Turner has written books about CIA operations--I recommend them. He was a Rhodes Scholar and a leader of high principles. I was about the equivalent of a colonel when I quit. At the time I wrote In Search of Enemies, I may have been the highest ranking case officer to quit and write an expose, but this is much less important to me than what the book may have had to offer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.112.128.155 ( talk) 03:48, 2 February 2007 (UTC).

Following the sentence about John Stockwell's 1980 prediction that the U.S. would "seek out new enemies" if the Soviet Union collapsed, there was a very poorly written sentence which I deleted, attempting to say (hard to tell because of how poorly written) that Gulf War II somehow fulfilled this prediction. I at first attempted to rewrite the sentence to make it (1) more readable and (2) about Gulf War I (since that is the only Iraq war with any temporal connection to the collapse of the Soviet Union). However, while rewriting I realized that even that claim -- that the first Gulf War was waged in order to support the M-I complex -- is controversial. Hence I ultimately just deleted the sentence. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.108.18.51 ( talk) 21:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC).
the intro reads -- he resigned and wrote In Search of Enemies, a book which remains the only detailed, insider's account of a major CIA "covert action." do the writings of phil agee not count in this category also? if so, stockwell's account isn't actually the only such one. 173.3.41.6 ( talk) 10:03, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: Moved to John Stockwell (CIA officer) and made the base name disambiguation page. There's no consensus to move the actor to the base name at this time. ( non-admin closure) – Ammarpad ( talk) 05:48, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
