You say Almy held the record for seagoing service in the US Navy - twenty-seven years and ten months. You then say '...as well as fourteen years and eight months on shore.'

This does not add up to the forty-eight years, indicated by his dates of service, quoted as 1829-1877. Valetude ( talk) 18:08, 14 October 2013 (UTC) reply
