While John Ansenne was definitely the Auckland cricketer, the details of the death on 28 April 1939 are for James Ansenne, probably a brother (see https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/NZH19390506.2.154 ). To complicate things, there was also a Joe Ansenne, possibly another brother, and another James Ansenne, probably the father of one or all of them. Further research is needed.
