I've heard Joe say that he wasn't entirely happy with Robot Jox, but I don't think I ever heard him state he wanted his name removed from it; he's never been reluctant to talk about it, nor to acknowledge his work on it-- if there's a source for this, feel free to revert my edit and quote the source. Geoffrey.landis 02:06, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Unless his name is really "Joe (not Joseph) William Haldeman" I propose removing the parenthetical statement from the lead sentence. The "not Joseph" should either go in a sentence of its own (such as "His full first name is Joe, not Joseph, just as his brother's is Jack, not John"), or, if that seems too loquacious/trivial, it should be placed in an internal comment to editors.-- NapoliRoma 05:07, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
The moves his family made when he was a child could indicate a military family. Was he a "military brat" or was there some other reason for the moves? ("Military brat" is a term of affection in the military world, not derogatory). Sean7phil ( talk) 20:21, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
As per my edit summary - I removed the sentence that was cited to the April 14, 2011 NPR interview about Haldeman's not knowing the fate of other members of his platoon (yes, it is in there), because it seems to be a random addition, not more notable than other material in the interview or in other interviews, and a level of detail not consonant with the rest of that section. Just because we can source something doesn't make it notable. Is there some special significance to this point in relation to his life or writing of War Year or any other work, for example? And if so, do we have some (preferably third party) sourcing that makes the connection? Tvoz/ talk 08:16, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Not knowing the fate of fellow platoon members in war isn't notable? My God.
Most feeling people would realize that is profoundly notable. Since Haldeman is among the majority of humans who feel, I'm sure that "not knowing" haunts him. 69.171.160.49 ( talk) 15:06, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
Is there some reason the Marsbound series is labeled the "Mars" series? On the books themselves they say "a Marsbound novel" I'm changing it, absent objection. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.234.192.163 ( talk) 01:38, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates and tables for short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. Feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 ( talk) 07:17, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
