A fact from Jerzy Wołkowicki appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 22 December 2007, and was viewed approximately 925 times ( disclaimer) ( check views). The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that Polish General Jerzy Wołkowicki was not murdered by the Soviets in the Katyn Massacre probably due to his heroic past in the Russian Imperial Navy? Why was this removed?! Source has: "General Wołkowick, the elderly mentor of the antisemitic junior officers and cadets, who defended their criminal behavior towards their Jewish neighbors. Cases of extreme antisemitism are cited in the chapters dealing with his service in Ander's Army (from autumn 1941), in the Totskoye camp, in the headquarters at Buzuluk and even following the army's departure from Russia in the summer of 1942.
