I have removed the controversy section from this article for being insufficiently referenced. I have encountered opposition so I'll post here what I think is wrong with it. There are two references in the paragraph. The first one links to one of the game's websites, specifically the page explaining one of the features that has attracted the controversy. This is a fine reference for what it is, but it doesn't verify that any controversy exists, it just provides a reference that the feature exists. The second reference, to an article written by someone and posted on a fansite, approaches the nature of sources that can be used for verification of this section. But it's not a reliable source—just some guy on a fansite, explaining his perception of the fanbase. He doesn't explain what "the many forums available" are, or even talk about what he found in these forums in anything other than terms like "chunks", "group" and "substantial". This is not a sufficiently reliable source to verify an entire "Controversy" section. 67.164.156.42 ( talk) 03:40, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
I added the section back and added additional sources. I hope you think this is enough. Also, in the future, please tag the section as needing more sources so that more can be found by other people who are interested in helping out this wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.173.6.50 ( talk) 15:45, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Are you an employee for Insight Venture Partner? If so than you hold a bias on any issues suggested as being "controversial" within this article, and therefore shouldn't be editing it or removing sections. -- 75.134.132.254 ( talk) 05:21, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
I have had to repeatedly restore the controversy section because of one user (most likely an employee of insight) completely wiping it, if you are upset by this issue then how about you make steps to fix it rather than hide it. — Preceding

Hi, I am a COI editor associated with Insight Partners. I would like to request assistance with some general updates and article cleanup that are intended to make this page both more accurate and more structured:
Change from:
Insight Partners (previously Insight Venture Partners) is an American venture capital and private equity firm based in New York City. The firm invests in growth-stage technology, software and Internet businesses.
To:
Insight Partners (previously Insight Venture Partners) is a global venture capital and private equity firm that invests in high-growth technology, software, and Internet businesses. The company is headquartered in New York City, with offices in London, Tel Aviv, and Palo Alto.

Rationale: More geographically accurate; consolidates office location mentions into one spot on the page.
Change from:
Insight Partners was founded in 1995 by Jeff Horing and Jerry Murdock. Insight Partners raised more than $90 billion in capital commitments, including $20 billion in its Fund XII in 2021. In March 2019, Insight Venture Partners changed its name to Insight Partners. In October 2019, the firm established an office in Tel Aviv. In 2020, Insight Partners joined Diligent Corporation's initiative and pledged to create five new board roles among its portfolio companies for racially diverse candidates.

[5] The firm has an in-house team of over 100 operating experts called Onsite, which is dedicated to assisting portfolio companies in their growth. [6]
Rationale: Updated AUM and investment statistics; Onsite mention is more currently relevant than present copy and supported by third-party coverage as shown.

In 2020, Insight Partners backed software startup JFrog's initial public offering (IPO), followed by 1stdibs' IPO in 2021. In April 2021, Insight Partners raised $1.56 billion for the Insight Partners Opportunities Fund I LP, a new fund outside of its flagship growth-investment vehicles. As of June 2021, Insight Partners is the biggest investor in Monday.com and WalkMe, owning a 43% stake in Monday.com and 32% of WalkMe, with a combined ownership worth $3.9 billion. Also in 2021, Insight Partners put up $500 million to take a minority stake in Saks.com. Insight Partners also put $15 million of its own capital into an additional new fund, called The Vision Capital 2020 LP Fund. The Vision 2020 LP Capital Fund backs minority led firms raising early-stage funds. In February 2022, Insight Partners announced it had raised $20 billion for its twelfth flagship fund, more than doubling the size of its previous flagship fund. In May 2022, as part of a $200 million funding round led by KKR, Insight Partners increased its previous investment in the cybersecurity company and speculated unicorn Semperis.
