Hello, I've greatly expanded this article with several sections. Since this is now a newsworthy topic, let's discuss any proposed format or content here. The article still needs some early history, pre-1946, as well as more depictions in culture and notable evacuees. Allanaaaaaaa ( talk) 17:14, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
I feel that the following paragraph under Conditions, subsection Diagnosis, could be worded in a less confusing manner toward the end. “ Because the skin test for TB was unreliable, diagnostic ships began to rely more on chest x-rays, exposing children and adults to yearly doses of radiation, for some community members over 40 years.[23]” Staind fan1 ( talk) 23:44, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
I also think this article could use a name change: perhaps "Canadian Indian hospital system," to somewhat mirror the " Canadian Indian residential school system" article? Allanaaaaaaa ( talk) 02:25, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
Gary Geddes uses the term "segregated Indian hospitals" quite a lot - wonder if we should go with "Canadian segregated Indian hospitals". Allanaaaaaaa ( talk) 16:18, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
I concur that specifying Canadian in the title is better. Staind fan1 ( talk) 23:42, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
A competing claim (without reference) for the foundation of the Coqualeetza Indian Hospital "in the mid-1930s" - other references say it was a residential school and started conversion to a hospital in 1940. Needs further investigation. Allanaaaaaaa ( talk) 20:26, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
I think that is a Class C article from the WikiProject Hospitals perspective. It contains sufficient sections and inline referencing. It could use some images or maps. G. Moore Talk to G Moore 19:52, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
