Let me clear, I’m a fan of Idris. But does his name need to be in parentheses in Arabic? He was an American. Doesn’t this play into those who seek to divide us by making him less American? I would argue for its removal. Jucjuc ( talk) 13:12, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
Sources give conflicting places of death for Muhammad. The Independent obituary says New Orleans ("died back in the city of his birth") [1] the NYT source says Fort Lauderdale, Florida [2]. In terms of slightly less reliable sources, Jazz Times says that the location of death is unknown [3] and All About Jazz says that his death was "learned of [...] through family members in Fort Lauderdale, Fla" [4] which could be where the confusion and NYT article comes from?
Can we get any consensus on this? It doesn't seem to make sense that he would be in Florida considering most sources say he was receiving treatment in New Orleans. Then again, this is just me guessing. Vladimir.copic ( talk) 23:44, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
