I feel I should explain why I created this article with an unconventional plural noun.
Home video
Home movie (singular) is a disambiguation page linking to several somewhat unrelated articles.
"Home movies" and "home videos" much less ambiguously denote the sense discussed in this article. When used as a noun, "home movies" nearly always appears in the plural form. This is very similar to "fireworks" discussed in Wikipedia:Naming conventions (plurals), where "firework" is a variant, but not the most common form.
Titling this article in the plural allows "home movie" and "home video" to be used to refer to commercial movies in formats designed for use in comsumer equipment at home. In the case of "home video", this use is a mass noun (not countable), whereas the plural form is reserved for countable "videos". Canadiana 00:21, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Tons of stuff on Google Scholar. I'd like to think that this topic is old enough to have been studied seriously in e.g. books and articles. https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=home+movie Anonymous-232 ( talk) 22:17, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
