You need an iron bladder if you visit Holt because, firstly the one or two signs pointing to public toilets do not in fact lead to the public toilets, and secondly the locals do not know where they are. I spent a long time looking for them and asking about them but was unable to find them.
The following addition to the Holt, Norfolk article by 80.0.122.85 was sensibly reverted today by Palmiped. Xn4 12:47, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
It is alleged that there is at least one public toilet in Holt, or that there once may have been a public toilet in Holt at some time in the last two-hundred years. However in a little known civic ceremony carried out at midnight in the town hall all Holtians are sworn to secrecy never to reveal to visitors on pain of death where the public toilet is, although they are encouraged to give misleading and vague directions. Similarly, the council employs a highly trained elite team of ex-SAS members to place signs which appear to point to where the toilets are, but which do not in fact do so and lead to visitors going on a wild goose chase. In 1947, when a council employee accidently put up a sign which did in fact point to where the public toilet was, or once may have been, both he and all his family and friends were summarily executed.

Did Stephen Fry really attend Gresham's? His entry on Wikipedia makes no mention of this. Millbanks 19:32, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Just removed a hugely disproportionate mention of June's supermarket fire. We are not a news website and mutterings from local dignatories about a local event are nothing special. The info was more than we had about a fire that destroyed the entire town. Ridiculous. - Sitush ( talk) 05:09, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
