I removed the tags, since nothing was actually disputed here yet. Let's just say the article needs improvement, which it obviously does, and go from there? -- Jpbrenna 08:58, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
How can the Old Persian period be 330BC-200CE if the first texts in Old Persian cuneiform are from 550BCE?????? Cpom 20:49, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

I´ve edited the template, at least its initial date of 300BC for old persian. But when did it end? Did it continue under Seleucid rule? Parthian????
The very MIDDLE PERSIAN article says that OP ended with Alexander and "the Middle Period" (Middle Iranian or Middle Persian) went from there to Islam.
"In the classification of the Iranian languages, the Middle Period includes those languages which were common in Iran from the third century B.C. (the fall of the Achaemenids) up to the seventh century A.D. (the fall of the Sasanians)."
