This article is a spinout of the Filipino American article, and the assertions I question were added in this June 2007 edit of that article. That addition was without support. The supporting cite was added in this April 2011 edit of that article.
The supporting source cited there is unavailable to me, but I am unable to verify those assertions in the wikilinked WP article or in the text of the Act itself.
If that cited source does in fact support the article assertions, it appears to me that this article needs some clarication regarding those assertions (perhaps relevant quotes from the cited source) and/or some balancing information citing other sources. (see WP:DUE). Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 23:19, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
The Philippine Organic Act declares Filipinos to be American nationals.
Congress passes the Cooper Act, making it illegal for Filipinos to own property, vote, operate a business, hold public, or become naturalized American citizens.
To counter Japanese workers' growing militancy in the Hawaiian sugar plantations, Horace Allen goes to Korea to recruit plantation workers. Mexican laborers are also being brought in.

Hello Authors, Upon reading this article there is an evident over representation of the Filipino immigration pattern and only offers a quick summation of other significant events pertaining to Filipino-Americans. Policies about immigration were clearly explained yet the timeline for other Filipino American milestones simply consisted of one or two sentences summarizing the events. However, the lack of elaboration for these events simply gives more opportunity to provide extra information on the matter. Although I am unable to access some of the resources, those that I can access are from a credible source that significantly offered in-depth information about immigration patterns of Filipino-Americans. -- Jpfababaer ( talk) 04:29, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
The timeline found here in June 2008, is nearly identical to this website. Who is duplicating who? RightCowLeftCoast ( talk) 14:23, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
I have removed the entry in the timeline about Gasper Molina. While it is a historic individual, the shipwright built the ship in Loredo, not Alta California.

Hello! I have reviewed the article, and unfortunately I believe it is far from being classified as a Good Article under Wikipedia's Good Article criteria, here are my concerns with the article:
Considering the above, I do not believe the article will be able to meet the criteria in a timely period and therefore should fail this nomination. Unless you disagree and/or can fix the issues discussed within 7 days I will finish this review. BlackfullaLinguist ( talk)
@ Gog the Mild: A section "Immigration from the Philippines to the United States in 2016" is largely the work of Arod 93215 ( talk · contribs), who was a student editor. More recently Wakowako ( talk · contribs) added two additional references to the section. That said, the section's scope is very small compared to the wide scope of the article. I suggest the section be relocated to a more appropriate article, or removed altogether.-- RightCowLeftCoast ( Moo) 03:17, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

I am not convinced that it is PD in the Philippines. At a hard push, I think that we can go with just the US PD status for GA, so leave it.
