Out of interest, why do Wikipedia allow some firms to make mention to awards [eg Freehills http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freehills ] and offices and not others (on the basis that it is Marketing and promotional material)? I thought Awards and Offices would be as factual as past notable allumni etc.?
Thanks
Hi
Thank you so much for your quick response.
The awards referenced for Herbert Geer were:
- 2011 Winner BRW magazine ‘Client Choice Award’ for Best Law Firm ($50m - $200m turnover)
- 2011 Winner of ALB Employer of Choice Award (Blue)
- 2011 Winner ALB Law Awards Melbourne Law Firm of the Year
- 2011 Finalist in the BRW magazine ‘Client Choice Awards’ in the Best Value Firm category
The BRW magazine award is commonly agreed to be one of the most important and prestigious in the Australian legal industry as it is voted on by clients of the industry. The Australian Legal Business (ALB) Awards are industry awards and I could see how Wikipedia might consider industry awards as being marketing driven (although ALB is a highly reputable publisher).
Thanks again
