Re: [1] [2] [3] — Category:African-American artists is a non-diffusing subcat of Category:American artists, but not all subcats of Category:American artists are non-diffusing. In particular, for example, Heather Hunter is a member of Category:21st-century American painters, which is diffusing subcat of Category:21st-century American artists, which is a diffusing subcat of Category:American artists by century, which is a diffusing subcat of Category:American artists. Category:American artists is explicitly marked as {{ category diffuse}}, i.e. articles should not be in it directly. Mitch Ames ( talk) 03:47, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
