We routinely write articles about battalions and independent companies - that is, led by sometimes majors and captains (U.S. Army - in line with the Milhist notability guidelines. While commanded at a lower level than usual, there have been military districts commanded by colonels before (Colonel-led; "Colonel-lead" isn't correct English either), and there no doubt will again. There's no question that such a formation is notable, so long as it does the normal thing and meets GNG.
