Shouldn't this article be called HMS Nautilus (1914)?. It isn't really a class as there's only one boat, and it was launched in 1914. Normally that is the date in the title. I have also set up a redir from HMS N1. Welsh 21:29, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
What does this mean?
At this early date, ballast tanks were placed within the pressure hull. Saddle tanks were a new innovation at this time. So this submarine is either 40 years ahead of the curve, or this sentence needs some work – quite possibly it was adopting saddle tanks that was the innovation?
