Should this article be renamed Hong Kong Government? That's the short form actually used. — Insta ntnood 06:22, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

The Hong Kong Government → Government of Hong Kong redirect was nominated for deletion at WP:RFD. The result of the discussion was to keep the redirect. The discussion is being archived here at the redirect target's talk page as per RFD policy. → Ξxtreme Unction { yakł blah} 11:39, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

To move this article about the executive branch to Hong Kong Government, which is its conventional and officially used short name. The government of Hong Kong should be a topical article on the government aspect, i.e. the three branches. — Insta ntnood 11:21, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

The government section of the "Outline of Hong Kong" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.
When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.
Please check that this country's outline is not in error.

Should the name of this article be called "Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region"? Semantically, the term Hong Kong Government refers to the colonial government, between 1842 to 1997. Bourquie ( talk) 09:35, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Is there a reason that the lede says the HKSAR Government "is the executive authorities of Hong Kong" rather than the executive authority (subject-verb agreement, as it is a single entity) or simply the executive, as suggested by the article that is linked? It seems like a typographical error but perhaps the use of plural has meaning I don't apprehend.
The executive (or executive branch) is usually a part of a government, not the government entire. Are other usual governmental functions that complement executive power, like legislative and judicial functions, external to the HKSAR Government as described in this article? Should the first line of this article not say "holds the executive power for Hong Kong" or (tautologically) "is the government of Hong Kong"? 3580ca ( talk) 20:15, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
