Note that original word is गोड़ी with a retroflex r. It is written with dot under D in Hindi, and with a mark over R in Urdu. In Pakistan the temple is spelled as Gori. In India it is genrally spelled in English as Godi.

Raikes (1856) also comments about the migration of Jains from Parkar. He comments that some migrated to Sindh and eventually to Kutch, and thus came to be known as Kutchee Ooswals. others migrated to Hallar and Marwar. The Gori Temple and the old Bhodesar temple are iconic for the Nagarparkar region. The movie Ramchand Pakistani represents the characters as living in the Nagarparkar region.
