Isn’t it true that Floyd had heart disease and fentanyl in his system when he died? Did he actually die from ex fixation? Or did he have a heart attack and die? 71.247.65.168 ( talk) 21:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC) reply

It means they left a lot out about the guys character. He was a drug user and dealer. He did have many criminal charges. An I'm sure this page left out prior resisting arrests. Sad story, but the guy isn't the one to be held up. Many innocent people had their lives taken by the police. All different types of people. This page is a mockery. 47.26.140.246 ( talk) 14:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC) reply

George foyd

He didn't technically fully killed the other officer. Just a bullet wound toke long to having him be in the hospital in the ER. Possibly and as long as it toke to get George in handcuffs and to calming him down. But not necessary choking him technically while being on the ground. 98.97.24.242 ( talk) 15:04, 22 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi where it says, In 2007, Floyd faced charges for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon; according to investigators, he had entered an apartment by impersonating a water department worker and barging in with five other men, then held a pistol to a woman's stomach and searched for items to steal. Protests v. riots

I feel like this edit by @ ChillyKnight: requires some conversation, especially in light of Q8 in the topheader. Thoughts? Therapyisgood ( talk) 18:28, 26 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Agree, it should be reverted. Slatersteven ( talk) 16:24, 27 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Happy to have a conversation about it. From my perspective Q8/A8 is somewhat unreasonable. A8 states "Because multiple reliable sources call them protests, not riots." While this is true, there are also reliable sources that do refer to them as riots. For example:
The Telegraph - US riots set to scar economy for years to come (June, 6 2020)
CNN - Police point finger at gangs and local groups for riot damages, contradicting Trump’s claims (June 10, 2020)
CNN - What we do and don’t know about the extremists taking part in riots across the US (May 31, 2020)
More sources:
The Columbus Dispatch - Police deploy pepper spray as protests over death of George Floyd spread to Columbus (May 28, 2020) "Some rioting and looting have occurred in the Minneapolis area and at least one auto parts store was set afire."
Claims Journal - Insured Losses from Riots Reach ‘Catastrophe’ Levels, May Rival Record (June 2, 2020)
The Oregonian - Riot declared as Portland protests move to City Hall on 3-month anniversary of George Floyd’s death (August 25, 2020) ChillyKnight ( talk) 18:27, 27 May 2024 (UTC) reply

By the way, the heading here is mischaracterizing the discussion somewhat. This isn't about whether the demonstrations should be called "protests" or "riots". My point is that since reliable sources mention both protests and riots taking place, we should be factual and include both. ChillyKnight ( talk) 04:50, 28 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Cause of death- look at Death Certificate

Per death certificate, George Floyd’s cause of death was a Fentanyl overdose, not from the knee on his neck by the police officer. 2600:6C5D:6300:408D:2DDA:6BDD:EA35:1D5 ( talk) 16:03, 27 May 2024 (UTC) reply
