February 5, 2008, the town of Gassville, Arkansas was hit by a severe tornado and virtually destroyed. Woodywoman ( talk) 00:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I have added that the town was sealed off due to concerns over gas leaks causing an explosion risk. I can't figure out how to put the reference in, but the reference is : http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080206/ap_on_re_us/severe_weather Also, does anyone know any more about this town, in particular, it is rare for a town to be sealed off due to gas explosion risks... and the town is called Gassville... Is the town historically related to the gas industry? Perhaps the article could be expanded? Buckethed ( talk) 06:04, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
do some research at some stage to see if I can update the accuracy (it may be that they were just referring to the 'gas' station as they tend to be of flimsy construction so that probably did get damaged). Thank you for letting us know what happened - I hope your community has recovered! Buckethed ( talk) 04:08, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
