More BETTER photographs needed. Anyone got a GOOD 24mm wideangle? can't fit 28mm in narrow streets NVO 19:50, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand the context of this sentence: "Construction in the USSR resumed in 1926, the year of Schechtel's death." ...construction of what? Jessicapierce 01:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Construction of practically everything. 1914-1918: World War I. 1917-1922: Revolution and Civil War. Then it took a couple of years of New Economic Policy to stabilize the money system, so, indeed, domestic construction took off in 1925-1926. Check a bio of any important russian-soviet architect of that period, you'll see a void filled with theory and wasted paper - and then a fountain of jobs in late twenties. To be fair, there were older buildings completed before 1925 (Kievsky Station, 1912-1921) and new built (Shukhov Tower, 1921-1922) but too few to matter. NVO 19:23, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
