What was the exact reason why Broadway-Nassau-Fulton Streets (New York City Subway) was merged into this article and not the other way around? Is "Fulton Street Transit Center" the current name of the station or station complex? I don't think so. I would move it back to the aforementioned title until the complex is rechristened and construction is complete. Tinlinkin 13:25, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Is it OK if I start separating the text of the future structure from the existing station? Tinlinkin 07:10, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
The merge was a mistake, and should be reverted. The Fulton Street Transit Center is a project. The project and the station need to be clearly distinguished. The project has a fixed duration, and will end. The station will endure indefinitely. Marc Shepherd 15:07, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
What's up with this sentence?
I recently read a NY Times article online that showed a animation of the station complex. (2 months ago?) (Illustrations are not archived, therefore there's no way to retrieve it.) It demonstrated a person going from the IRT Broadway-7th Av. platform to the BMT Broadway platform without going outside fare control, if I recall correctly. Am I correct? Tinlinkin 13:38, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
The MetroCard has the ability to allow free transfers without requiring platforms to be connected by fare-controlled passageways. Presumably this is what the MTA plans to do here. A big advantage of electronic payment systems is that they allow complex stations like this one to be built without a maze of twisty passages, all alike.-- agr 03:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
The reference is Chapter 3 of the FEIS , p. 3-21: "The Dey Street Passageway is currently proposed to be an unpaid connection between the WTC site and the FSTC, and, as such, is expected to serve a larger volume of people than if it were strictly a paid-zone to paid-zone transfer...." Okay guys, we need to repair the damage that was done to the station complex article and the project article. For the project article, the station should remain as is: Fulton Street Transit Center. But for the station article, I have really become indifferent with the station names for the articles, but would otherwise go with the following:

what are all these references to the E Line at the Fulton Street Station? The final stop for the E line is the World Trade Center Station/Chambers Street Matthewbrownny ( talk) 00:46, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
The Fulton Center complex is a collection of various downtown stations in the same locale, but it does not mean that all of the stations will be connected with free transfer passages. Some basic goals of this project are:
The E indeed terminates at the World Trade Center station, but it is intended that sometime in the near future, that a free transfer passageway would be created to link to the BMT Cortlandt Street station. It would be still part of the Chambers-Park Place complex.
Note that the 1 is NOT mentioned at all. The 1 travels under Greenwich Street, a little further inside of the WTC site. During the planning of the FSTC (Fulton Center) in the early 2000s, the future of the IRT Cortlandt Street station was uncertain, due to the delayed redevelopment of the site. It was intended that the station would be reconstructed AFTER substantial completion of the WTC site. The 1 station would link with the WTC Transportation Hub, which will be the new terminus of the PATH in Lower Manhattan. Underground concourses, constructed in the footprints of 3 and 4 WTC and the Transit Hub will connect to the Dey Street Passageway, which is part of the Fulton Center project. Hmanck ( talk) 22:05, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
I don't think the M train, which is being merged with the V train next month, will stop at this station when it's built. Anlasbry ( talk) 16:02, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
A project of such a scale does not go without controversy. I do have a list of problems that the public had, but I would like to collaborate, so that we can create a section that is properly styled.

Is there a plan, map, or diagram of the complex? It is not easy to visualize. Jd2718 ( talk) 02:38, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
Was browsing Vito Acconci's website the other day and found an design he did called "ATRIUM, FULTON STREET TRANSPORATION CENTER". He dates it 2004. Acconci Studio Website - Fulton Project It bears a striking similarity to the Grimshaw / Arup / Carpenter design.
I also checked the respective pages for Grimshaw and Arup, but they don't mention Acconci at all.
Anyone know what's the story here? Perhaps there was an early conceptual competition (similar to the world trade center)?
Padams20 ( talk) 01:51, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
I haven't been much into the progress of the center for a while, so I may be a bit behind, but the article for the Dey Street Passageway says that the passageway has been complete (sans the connection to WTC) and the section on this page implies that it isn't. Also while some dates seem to have passed and have been edited to reflect current completion status, a lot of other dates in this article haven't. I'm going to look through some sources if I get the chance and try to tidy things up, but if anybody knows better than me the current status of the complex, I'd love to know if there is updating that needs to be done here at all. -- rellmerr ( talk page • contribs) 03:47, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

I'll copyedit as I go; please revert if I screw anything up.
The major elements of the Fulton Center rehabilitation project included-> "The major elements of the Fulton Center include". I wouldn't fail GA for this, because the information is all here, but I think it's back-to-front as it stands.
This portion of the project is part of a master lease to lease over 60,000 square feet of space: this feels like a forward looking statement from the days of the project; can it be restated in the past or present tense now the project is completed?
It is applying for LEED certification: the source is three years old; can we update this?
There were plans for a free transfer between Cortlandt Street and World Trade Center stations: the source doesn't say this, it just says "R and E lines". Can I take it that the station names are unambiguously determined by that?
however this plan was removed due to value engineering: a fancy way of saying cost overruns; I think we should go with simpler language.
In July 2008, the Federal Transit Administration announced it would not fund the cost overruns associated with the Fulton Center. However, the MTA is using 2009 federal stimulus money to help fund the project. Why do we care now about the announcement then? And the next sentence is again in the wrong tense.
In March 2008, the MTA indicated that an above ground structure will be built at the site...Again this seems uninteresting now; no doubt it was relevant information when announced, but it's been superseded. And the tense is wrong.
Throughout the construction phases of the project, all four stations in the original complex were rehabilitated: suggest "The project rehabilitated all four stations in the original complex".
The Fulton Center project involves three station rehabilitation projects: more present tense; should now be past. Similarly there is "These entrances would allow" later.
A white false wall separates the work area (transit center building) from the now-public passageways is put up in the Western Mezzanine: looks like an incompletely edited sentence, and was this a temporary false wall, or permanent? If temporary it's not worth mentioning.
Some have suggested: best to avoid this sort of vague attribution.

Most points have been fixed, including all the minor issues, so I think it's worth starting a new section. Here's what I think is still an issue.
On Sunday, November 9, 2014, the MTA unveiled the Fulton Center, located at the crossroads of Lower Manhattan on Broadway between John and Fulton Streets.and
Prior to the Fulton Center project. I also reworded and smoothed out the "Planning and cutbacks" section, which I just wrote from scratch a few days ago, and I finished changing the tenses. epicgenius ( talk) 23:04, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Unfortunately, this article lacks many citations. They may have been removed while the article was awaiting review. Regrettably, their lack is grounds for a quick fail.
Please feel free to post it as a GAN when the corrections are made. Georgejdorner ( talk) 23:20, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

I'll review this. Mike Christie ( talk - contribs - library) 11:58, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

The Sky Reflector-Net at Fulton Center, a subway and retail complex centered at the intersection of Fulton Street and Broadway in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The Sky Reflector-Net, which was commissioned by the MTA Arts & Design (the art program of the MTA), was installed in 2014 in the Fulton Center transit hub. Located at the center of the oculus, the Sky Reflector-Net uses hundreds of aluminum mirrors to provide natural sunlight from a 53 ft (16 m) skylight to an underground area as much as four stories deep.
