MacMurray is best known for his role in the 1944 film noir Double Indemnity directed by Billy Wilder, in which he starred with Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G. Robinson Maybe that is how he first became famous, but there are lot of people today who know who he is but never heard of that film! Yet they have all heard of My Three Sons! Not everyone is a fan of Film noir, nor should they be. 2600:1700:DC0:61A0:10AF:6B5D:B510:93B4 ( talk) 13:04, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
there was a fred macmurray STORE somewhere in tokyo in the late 80s - i saw it myself, tho i forget exactly where (i'm guessing harajuku). sold sweatshirts, bags, hats or w/e emblazoned with a silhouette logo of him smoking a pipe. no clue how or why he was making an appearance there, at that late date. i doubt many of the customers actually knew who he was -- just somehow found the logo cute. retro kitsch.
can anyone confirm the years it was there and/or find a citation about the place? i've been trying for 30 years now!
