The first sentence of the article reads "Floyd Joy Mayweather...is an American professional boxer and promoter; widely considered one of the greatest boxers of all time." One rule with semicolons is that they unite two in-sentence clauses that, on their own, could be complete sentences. At Semicolon#Usage, the three relevant examples ("My wife would like tea", etc.) all contain clauses that would work as separate sentences. In this case, "widely considered one of the greatest boxers of all time" has no subject so this construct is grammatically incorrect. The semicolon should be replaced with "who is" although replacing it with a comma or adding "he is" after the semicolon would also work. 2602:306:BC31:4AA0:480B:1D12:4102:2962 ( talk) 17:56, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

I recently had a look at the coverage of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight on both the Boxing career of Manny Pacquiao page and this page, and I couldn't help but notice that both pages cover the event very differently. I am not saying either page is wrong or should be fixed, but perhaps some neutral/uninvolved experts on the subject could have a look and try to edit these two sections so that the Wikipedia descriptions of the same event on different pages do not contradict one another? It seems to me that the coverage on the Pacquiao page is clearly favourable to Pacquiao, and this page is favourable to Mayweather. I neither know enough about the fight or the editing conventions for this kind of stuff on Wikipedia to know what to do, but I will write this here and a similar message on the Mayweather page and hopefully the Wikipedia community will be able to sort it out. In Floyd Mayweather’s biography, it should state that he is one of the greatest boxers who ever lived. He deserves that kind of recognition just like the many other fighters who have that recognition in there wikipedia biography. It should say “He is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. [1] Ryanbowman23 ( talk) 05:41, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

"In 2016, Mayweather was ranked by ESPN as the greatest boxer, pound for pound, of the last 25 years. As of July 2020, BoxRec ranks him the 2nd greatest boxer of all time, pound for pound behind Ezzard Charles. Many sporting news and boxing websites, including The Ring, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, BoxRec, Fox Sports, and Yahoo! Sports, ranked Mayweather as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world twice in a span of ten years."That seems fine to me, and your source (Sugar Ray Robinson) ranks Mayweather seventeenth, which I mean if anything would be a mark against being "widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time". We don't have many "one of the greatest of all time" sources in this article, and the one you provided doesn't really seem to support that statement. There should be some sort of notice that clarifies the fight had no judges and no official winner was declared - it wasn't an actual draw since it wasn't scored as such (or scored at all). 1. Under the "Controversies" section, there is a heading that says "2022 Ethereum lawsuit". This is incorrect as the company in question is "EthereumMax" (EMAX), which is not related to the company Ethereum. (Just as an FYI: the only relevance that EMAX has to Ethereum is that it is a token that was created on the Ethereum blockchain, but this is something that is easily done by many other companies, except that EMAX decided to misappropriate the Ethereum name to make themselves sound legit)
2. Accordingly, the information within and under the heading should make reference to "EthereumMax", and not "Ethereum".
3. The token in question is thus "EthereumMax token", and not "Ether".

In the section about the McGregor fight, first sentence of the fifth paragraph it states that with that victory Mayweather set "the record for the longest active unbeaten streak in a professional career at 50–0". This statement is given without a citation, and I feel it is wrong and should be removed for the following reasons:
a) The streak is no longer active, as Mayweather is now retired
b) There have been longer unbeaten/ winning streaks in professional boxing, e.g. JCC's 89 fight one
c) If if one argues that the streak is still somehow 'technically active' since it was not ended by a loss but by retirement (and Floyd could un-retire, reactivating the streak), then Ricardo Lopez 52 fight unbeaten streak would still be longer. 94.157.183.38 ( talk) 17:48, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

If you find some better sources supporting the statement feel free to re-open this request (change "answered=yes" to "answered=no"). Volteer1 ( talk) 06:07, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Change fight with Logan Paul to June 6th instead of June 5th not a big change but I want people to know the exact date Sodapoppers ( talk) 19:18, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
There should be some sort of notice that clarifies the fight had no judges and no official winner was declared - it wasn't an actual draw since it wasn't scored as such (or scored at all). This is also misrepresentative of the fight as Mayweather won on many unofficial scorecards -- RMLF ( talk) 04:34, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

You can not include exhibition bouts on the number of wins Mayweather has as they are not sanctioned by the world of boxing Chrisq89 ( talk) 06:17, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

I'm actually surprised that an article of someone like Floyd Mayweather does not not have a buisness section. I would have added it myself as there are countless sources available but I'm not that knowledgeable on Floyd. So i hope experienced editors with knowledge on Floyd will make it.✌️ Jaconsarto ( talk) 14:38, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

The section beginning "Lederman's scoring for this fight may be seen as inconsistent" should surely be changed to "consistent", as in all three of the fights cited Lederman favoured the boxer who landed more jabs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amethyst83 ( talk • contribs) 00:43, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
