This is an interesting article, but it has a bit of an odd tone to it. The principle problem is that it doesn't capture the experiences of people who visit(ed) these pubs, including when they were/are the only convenient ones available to them. Instead, the article's perspective on the topic seems to be that of outsiders looking down their nose at these venues. It would be interesting to know whether the people who moved to areas served by these pubs due to slum clearages often liked them, and how the pubs compare against developments in traditional pubs in the UK - of which I've been to some which were (sadly) little more than the beer barns which are being discussed here. The broader issue of whether these pubs were a successful or flawed element of the often-flawed post war rehousing policies could also be explored. Nick-D ( talk) 05:06, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
This article seems to be a repetition of the same few points (“flat roof pubs are pubs built on housing estates that tend to be rough”) over and over. I feel the whole thing could have been covered much more succinctly. FOARP ( talk) 06:10, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Another user: The picture you use is not a good one, it's too fancy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:6488:A601:38E7:C772:AB33:3E46 ( talk) 11:12, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
