Hello, I have altered a sentence to remove some transphobic language from the "Gender Analysis" section of this article. The first paragraph doesn't make much sense and actually contradicts itself (not to mention is grammatically incorrect), so I think that should be removed also. Does everybody agree? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.138.58 ( talk) 13:28, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
I've removed this image from the article because it does not depict a Neapolitan femminiello – it's a picture of Dina Alma de Paradeda, a trans woman from Brazil, and it was merely taken in Naples, according to the description. -- CRYptex talk 20:22, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
Since the article mentions that defining Femminielli as transgender is reductive, would a comparison to drag queens be more apt and accurate? Especially given the context of taking part in rituals and ceremonies, it does indicate to me that there's a sort of performative aspect to Femminielli that does resemble drag performances.
