It claims that Michael Jordan's dunk at the Slam Dunk Contest in 1988 inspired Air Jordan and the Jumpman logo, but the Air Jordan brand and Jumpman logo had already existed for several years. I can't find any source supporting the assertion that the dunk was the inspiration for the brand or logo. Releere ( talk) 13:41, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
I have removed several of the more recent historical events. Regarding the importance of the older events, the newer ones seem entirely irrelevant and almost laughable. For example, what is the Slam Dunk of Michael Jordan compared to the foundation of Singapore, of the capture of Fort Henry? I think inclusion of such things does not really befit an encyclopaedia which shouldn't be biased towards more recent events. Certainly as the years pass these things would be removed.

Redsky89: Dear fellow editor,
I noticed that in your mass-edit earlier today,
here, you reverted the change I had applied yesterday,
here, in which I had improved on Kate McGarrigle's description by changing 'accordion player' to 'multi-instrumentalist'.
Since I am not sure whether your revert was intentional or accidental, please may I therefore invite you simply to visit her article page,
Kate McGarrigle, and look at the Instruments clause in the infobox? I am hopeful that you will agree that it would be more complete to refer to her as a 'multi-instrumentalist', since she played piano, guitar and banjo, as well as the accordion. In fact, I've just noticed that I should update Kate's infobox because she also played the fiddle.
Thank you in advance for letting me know, at your convenience, that you would have no objection to my re-instating the more general description of 'multi-instrumentalist' in this case.
Thank you for your help and consideration.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ
