This article says there are two forms of the eicar test string, but there is only one string, provided in two identical files with different filenames.
The stuff about "zip folders" (whatever that is supposed to be) and "preventing such antivirus software detecting the test file directly, however this is dependent upon the integrity of the antivirus software being used" is nonsense.
