Dear @ MartinCollin you created this article and added the first inline citation, which reads:
<ref>[http://histfam.familysearch.org/getperson.php?personID=I210357&tree=Welsh Elizabeth Poyntz, lady of Thurles Eley]</ref>''
Doing so, you determined the article's citation style, which probably is <ref>URL</ref> or <ref>freetext</ref> (sorry, I do not know what this style is called; perhaps you can enlighten me).
I would like to change it to comply with shortened footnotes and list-defined references (as e.g. in Henry Bulkeley or John Hamilton (Jacobite)]. I would like to add a list of sources at the bottom and use a citation style that automatically links the inline citations to the list of sources, which is not possible with the present citation style.
According to WP:CITEVAR I must seek WP:consensus. I therefore ask your permission and also that of the major content contributors; hence: dear users MartinCollins, Evangelista, Chrisdoyleorwell, Katharineamy, Ohconfucius, Laurel Lodged, but also anybody else concerned, please allow me to change the citation style. With best regards and thanks, Johannes Schade ( talk) 11:32, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
