I created the article - I'll make a quick case for notability.
1) Elyane Angel was the 1st Gauntlet piercer to be awarded a Master Piercer Certificate - the first real step in industry standards and regulation. When she began working at the Gauntlet, it was the sole piercing studio in the United States - the development of piercing procedure that occurred there formed the basis for the industry today.
2) Angel is largely associated with the development and popularity of the tongue piercing - once an incredibly rare piercing and now extremely common.
3) Angel's role in the Association of Professional Piercers has contributed significantly to the development and regulation of her industry.
4) She is the first (and only) person to register a trademark for a tattoo.
In short, her role in defining an industry that went from one studio in 1980 to thousands of studios today is of notability. In addition to her association with the tongue piercing, she contributed to the general development of tools, technology and technique that came out for the Gauntlet. Her contributions to the Association of Professional Piercers continues that industry contribution today. She is one of the more colorful figures from that era and images of her as a modified person can be found in all of the key publications of the industry - Modern Primitives, PFIQ, Body Art, etc... Being the only person to trademark a tattoo makes her a novel figure in it's own right.
I don't think that every piercer who "developed a piercing" or who worked at a famous studio should have an entry here at Wikipedia, but Elayne Angel's various contributions to her field make the subject a good one for an entry. Glowimperial 15:10, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Most of this article was made by User:Angelayne. That user has also heavily edited the article for ms. Angel's transsexual pornographer husband. The problem should be obvious. I know little of tattoos and nothing of transsexual pornography - I don't know what here is valid/notable but I know there is likely a huge COI issue and the reader should be warned. - Schrandit ( talk)
I removed the line "Her long career has impacted many of the defining people and places associated with the movement." from the intro paragraph. It is a meaningless statement of opinion, not facts. At its most essential element, this statement ultimately just says "she is important", but that can easily be surmised from everything else in the article. -- 75.151.116.106 ( talk) 12:25, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
I have removed the following text from the article till reliable secondary sources are found for the same.
Angel is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP) and served four terms on its Board of Directors in the positions of Outreach Coordinator, Medical Liaison, and President. [1] She has edited their newsletter "The Point", authored a variety of brochures that have gone on to be industry standard for piercing care, taught workshops internationally, and participated in yearly APP conventions. citation needed

The citation ("Confirmed by Dr. Colene Calo, D.O. Medical Advisor for the APP") is not acceptable. Please add back only when secondary citations can attest to it. -- Lemongirl942 ( talk) 15:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
