Former Territory of GDR

I added this point because there has to be a term referencing the eastern part of what is now Germany. Though, I'm not sure whether this is the common usage in the English language. Toscho 19:49, 28 August 2007 (UTC) reply

German explanations

The usage of the terms East Germany and Eastern Germany respectively their German translations differs strongly in both languages. Because also Germans want to read the English Wikipedia and might be confused from this use, I added the German explanations. Toscho 19:49, 28 August 2007 (UTC) reply

Former eastern territories of Germany = Eastern Germany?

the use of the term seems controversial at best. It would be like calling California "Northern Mexico"...-- Nero the second ( talk) 15:51, 23 October 2009 (UTC) reply
