The image in question is from Ducati sales literature and is widely distributed on the web. As for the replace-ability, I have yet to find a more appropriate image depicting the changes to the front of the motorcycle. This is to illustrate the design change for the 2004 model, and to contrast it to the previous design.

Re-inserted "This reduced the force necessary to engage the clutch, and rider fatigue, which was a welcome change for heavy traffic where clutch engagement may be frequent." This has been discussed as up to 30% reduction in force by various review sources. Oil in the clutch will assist in clutch action.

Undid revision 276127023 by anonymous. Description of transverse engine layout in specifications is to differentiate this type of engine from others, such as in the BMW, Honda Goldwing or Moto Guzzi, that use a longitudinal layout. This information is useful, but possibly trivial.
