Double depression as PDD + MDD

Throughout the article it refers to double depression as being the co-occurrence of PDD and MDD. I'm not convinced by this as it is not how I have understood it elsewhere, which is as the co-occurrence of PDD and a major depressive episode. To me, this makes more sense. The distinction here is that MDD is the disorder that someone has if they have had a major depressive episode in the past or present (unless, of course, that MDE was a part of either bipolar I or II or schizoaffective disorder) whereas saying MDE specifies that it is in the present. So according to this article's current definition, someone with PDD who has had a MDE in the past but is not currently in it would be said to have double depression nonetheless. According to the definition I propose (admittedly unsourced hence starting the debate on the talk page) the double depression would only last the duration of the MDE in the person with PDD. Thoughts?
