The text says she sits on a lion, but in the picture she's sitting on a tiger. What's the deal? -- Angr/ tɔk tə mi 19:54, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
Changed, sorry I made a mistake, because in Hindi and other Indo-Aryan languages, although there are different words for lion and tiger, there is a common word generally used and I got mixed up. DaGizza 19:56 15 September 2005 (UTC)
The article on Shiva says parenthetically that Sati "is another form of Devi", yet Sati is not included here in the list of aspects of Devi.
A couple of typos fixed by yours truly. (Signed: Asafoetida of Finland)
As the article has atleast "a subheading that fully treats an element of the topic" as well as "multiple subheadings that indicate material that could be added to complete the article" I have rated the article as 'Start' class instead of 'Stub'. There's now a separate article on Adi Parashakti. Wouldn't it be better if it was merged with the main Devi article, as AFAIK it's one major way of seeing Devi, crediting Devi--an explanation of her rather than a distinct single goddess such as Lakshmi or Kali? If I'm wrong and Adi Parashakti is distinct enough (the way there's a separate article for say, "Hari" rather than the name redirecting to "Vishnu" or "Krishna"), excuse my ignorance:). -- Snowgrouse ( talk) 02:02, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
@ Nvvchar: The Sita subsection looks too big. Can we trim it down to a similar size as other Devis, for WP:SummaryStyle, WP:Balance and WP:Due? I like your additions, and perhaps you could move much of the new text to the main Sita article, which the subsection here links to. Ms Sarah Welch ( talk) 13:09, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on
Devi. Please take a moment to review
my edit. You may add {{

nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

This is my first edit so I hope that I'm doing it the right way. The page about Devi only has a link to the sanskrit page, and the page about Deva has a pronunciation only. Shouldn't they both have each?

@ Redtigerxyz: May be an image of Durga would be better for the lead, since she is the most popular Hindu goddess. She has significance in the three major sects—supreme form of Mahadevi (Shakta); wife of Shiva (Shaiva); and sister of Vishnu (Vaishnava). Or a more calm and graceful sculpture can be used. .245CMR.• 👥 📜 12:53, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
