Release Date

Released on December 29, 2006 by Triumph Films and Destination Films

It's currently May 2006--It cannot have been "released" in the future! :P In any case, I cannot find any support that a release date has even been set yet, so I have removed the line altogether until a definant source can be found. -- DMAJohnson 17:32, 8 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Poor Marketing

Hey, everybody! I just found a new citation about Delgo's poor marketing : [1]. But I have nowhere to place this useful information. Let me know! Christianster94 21:31, 20 January 2009 (UTC) reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Delgo (film). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{ cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{ nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Requested move 28 July 2017

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved - as much as I sympathise with the view that putting a failed film in front of a real place is sad, consensus for the move is clear DrStrauss talk 16:24, 31 August 2017 (UTC) reply

Delgo (film)Delgo – No need for a disambiguation page with two entries--just move one of them to the dab page and use a hatnote. ― Justin (koavf)TCM 22:24, 28 July 2017 (UTC)--Relisting. DrStrauss talk 19:01, 8 August 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. DrStrauss talk 09:19, 24 August 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Oppose "Delgo had the worst opening ever for any film on more than 2,000 screens." is a sort of notability, but don't see why in an encyclopedia it has to replace Delgo in books which is overwhelmingly the small town on the banks of the Nile. If Delgo was in the US, UK or Australia I suspect we'd have a substantial article on it. The current situation is fine. In ictu oculi ( talk) 07:13, 29 July 2017 (UTC) reply
    • @ In ictu oculi: WP:HATNOTE explicitly says "When two articles share the same title, except that one is disambiguated and the other not, the undisambiguated article should include a hatnote with a link to the other article. It is not necessary to create a separate disambiguation page." ― Justin (koavf)TCM 20:03, 30 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Yes I know that, but WP:TWODABS says two can exist. There's no contradiction. And there's no absolute topic here. In ictu oculi ( talk) 20:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Obviously a failed cartoon is always going to get more page views than an African small town - even a small town with a stop on Kitchener's railway and a temple built by Akhnaten. Which is why we have the first criteria, related to books and other serious boring shit, not just the entertainment value, Page Views. How does the cartoon meet the first Primary Topic criteria? It doesn't. In ictu oculi ( talk) 20:09, 30 July 2017 (UTC) reply
Yes, but "a direct hatnote serves readers better than an unnecessary dab page" because with a disambiguation page fewer than 250 readers per month are aware of the seriously boring small town, but a hatnote about the small town on the much more popular article will be seen by almost 6000 viewers per month. Perhaps some percentage will be curious enough to learn something while raising the viewership of the less-viewed article. At the same time, the majority are not inconvenienced. Everyone wins.
