Someone wrote the following sentence in the opening statement for this article: "He is one of the most gifted actors to ever grace film and television screens, carrying roles with such ease." Not that I necessarily disagree, but shouldn't this be changed to better reflect a netural point of view? ChrisMofNS ( talk) 18:19, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
There's a good interview with David Duchovny here that I thought would make a good inclusion to his page. Includes information about the actor, as well as his experience as a writer and director.
I read in the news that he's going to be in another X-Files Movie. Rumour, speculation...? - 71.224.24.99 03:03, 25 November 2006 Media:ghgffhf
The article says, "His father dropped the h in his last name to avoid...mispronunciations". But the article spells the father's name with the H. Did he change it back or is this a mistake? Venqax ( talk) 14:21, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
He's a movie/tv star for goodness sake! Surely there are some pics someplace that don't look like something from the Smoking Gun —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.59.58.126 ( talk) 04:05, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
In "Career" it lists that he starred in an Episode of "Sex and the City" and was the "... high-school X-boyfriend who has commited..."
Should that be "ex-boyfriend"? I didn't want to just change it and have it be some sort of "Sex and the City" inside joke (referring to "The X-Files," obviously) or something... Grfnkmp 15:52, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Duchovny is not the person known as Earl Gregory Ahearn in the Society for Creative Anachronism. "The Quarter", cited as the source for naming Duchovny as a member, is a satirical publication, much as "The Onion" is. <span class=ser:67.80.211.158|67.80.211.158]] ( talk • contribs)
I have been a member of the SCA for 20+ years. If you look at the cited page of The Quarter, you will see that they also "reveal" other celebrity members of the SCA to be Bernie Kopell (The Love Boat), Brian O'Halloran (Clerks), and Kevin Smith (Silent Bob). It's just a joke -- note that at the top of the page, The Quarter bills itself as "Trimaris' Perfectly Period Parody Publication", and states that it's "not an official publication of Trimaris or the SCA." The only role it serves is to poke gentle fun at the members of the SCA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.80.211.158 ( talk) 03:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm deleting the last sentence of the article that states he jokingly admitted to having a sex addiction problem 10 years earlier. The link just goes to a news article about his current sex addiction problem. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.227.247.206 ( talk) 03:22, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
I do not know of ANY Lutheran churches in Scotland, membership here is miniscule. Presumably his Scottish ancestor changed to Lutheranism...-- MacRusgail ( talk) 20:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Article says "Duchovny's siblings are Daniel and Laurie Duchovny." but doesn't mention if David is the oldest, middle or baby. 71.191.40.106 ( talk) 21:10, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know about the rest of you, but this sounds like some kind of stunt or put-on. If not, it's about the most ironic thing I've heard of all year. How will Duchovny possibly film a third season of Californication with therapists whispering in both ears? Is there anything out there aside from the MSNBC article? Inquiring minds want to know.
Also: what the hell is "in-patient" sex addiction therapy? I'm getting a sort of Clockwork Orange impression, maybe with Duchovny strapped to a chair, electrodes hanging from his man parts, while Behind The Green Door plays on an endless loop. 66.199.58.66 ( talk) 21:21, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Father was Jewish, mother is Lutheran. What religion was he raised as; what religion is he now? The categories on the article are contradictory, as he is in Russian-American Jews (which states he is Jewish), yet is also in Americans of Jewish descent (which states he has Jewish ancestry, yet is not Jewish). I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of David Duchovny's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
