What is this mysterious "drive circuit"? Delete the drive circuit. Add a bias resistor from Vcc to Q2 collector. The current limit is set by Rsense:
Imax = Vbe / Rsense

Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on

Foldback (power supply design) could profitably be merged with this article to improve the discussion of the topic here. -- Wtshymanski ( talk) 17:28, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
The section _Single power-supply circuits_ is good, showing two examples for NPN and PNP transistors. The example picture for PNP shows where the voltage output Vo is, but this is missing from the NPN picture. Can the NPN picture be updated to also show the Vo output symbol? -- Dojcubic 29 September 2020 —Preceding undated comment added 21:29, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
