Is this almost ready for GA? Maybe a devolpment section, something on audio and a few more refs, but it's close.-- Clyde Miller 20:51, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
I can't really comment on the relevancy of the sections (having never played the game), but it seems like a charecters and bosses have a place somewhere here (probably in gameplay). However, only one or two images are needed, just to give the reader a sense of the in-game bosses and gameplay, and the rest can go. The section also needs to be written in prose format with some refs, and the remaining images need fair use rationales.-- Clyde Miller 23:55, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
With myself and others have contributed, I think the article is very clean and ready for GA. If you disagree, reply tot his with any reasons - Kahnadex 06:12, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
In the article, it states that the game takes place in 1997, but wouldn't that instead be the date the world ended, and the game takes place a hundred years later? That seems to make a bit more sense... Tcgiant 21:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Do we need the part on the debate between Zebu and Tornel? Besides the fact that it doesn't make any difference for the NES game, it can easily be inferred that Zebu is Wind and Tornel is Fire. When rescuing the people of Leaf, Zebu comments "the wind is filled with sorrow." Plus he wants you to make a windmill work. You also rescue him after beating the General (Kebesque?), whom you defeat using wind. You rescue Tornel after Sabera, whom you beat with fire. It doesn't seem to add anything to the discussion and probably isn't correct. DajoKatti 22:26, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

I had posted the link to a Crystalis fanpage and it was deleted. The site has a ton of info on the game. Something similar happened on the Batman video game page. Any reason for this?

What exactly is the policy on this? Fan sites seem to be quite common in other games. -anon. 24 March 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.12.187.72 ( talk) 10:02, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
NP coverage might've stopped at the swamp, but later on they did either a full two-issue walkthrough or at least a walkthrough for the second half of the game. I used to use it all the time because I could never remember where exactly to find the Power Ring. I can't check the issues cause I have literally hundreds of them, though I do remember the coverage was well past Crystalis's prime. it might've been an extended part of one of the "How Do I... ..." sections. If I ever get the big box of NPs in the attic unburied, I'll check it out and post it here, but I'm 100% sure that it exists. -- Yoshiaki Abe 17:30, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes you are correct, I can't recall the issue numbers either, but I do know that one featured Ken Griffey Jr. on the cover. (Unfortunately I too am away from my big box on NPs) --anon. 24 March 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.12.187.72 ( talk) 10:07, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
OK, now this article looks really good. I'm sorry to have removed so much from the plot section, but this is wikipedia, not gamefaqs. I think I left more than enough for everything to function, yet omitted enough for it to flow much better and read much more clearly.
I don't know if anyone needs to add something else (if you do, please don't add *too* much). If not, someone please put this up for a higher status rating. I would, but I'm still a wikipedia novice and don't know how to do so. If this article achieves a higher rating now (GA, etc.), I'd appreciate it if someone left a note on my talk page letting me know. Good luck! -- Yoshiaki Abe 23:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
My question is how can Crystalis, a game made in 1990 have references to King of Fighters which was first released in 1994? I think it should be the other way around. KoF is well known for being centered around a combination of characters from many different SNK games (Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, etc). I'd think it was more of a nod towards the Athena/Psycho Soldier games then KoF. Anyone else have something to add? Lando242 00:20, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
I really hope someone can find a reference for the latter parts of this section, as mentioned in the GA Review below. This, along with the "Village of the Valley of Wind" comparison to Nausicaä and "Draygonia's Finest Four" being an attempt at a neutral translation of the phrase " shitenno" are unsourced, and they are each original research until proven otherwise. While I'm sure that each of these statements has merit, I fear that the Good Article status of Crystalis may hinge on their referencing or deletion (after I've worked on other aspects of the article). -- AspiringSquire 08:11, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

To allow for these changes to be made, I am putting the article on hold for a period of seven days, after which it may be failed at any time. Note also that this only my preliminary review, and I will be re-reviewing it with a second round of comments and checking to make sure that none of the links are broken after the above concerns have been addressed. Hello everyone. It was I who put in the " shitenno" phrase. I got it from the God Slayer article in the Japanese version of Wikipedia. The part I saw was this one:
For those who can't read Japanese, this is a list of the "Finest Four," with a brief description. The first sentence, "四天王の一人。" says quite literally, "one of the shitenno" or "one of the Four Heavenly Kings," however you want to translate it. Even though the term "four Heavenly Kings" refers to Buddhist deities, the term was often used in Japan to refer to any group of four loyal retainers of a certain person (in this case, Draygon). It's obvious that the translators of the game didn't want to name four villains "Heavenly Kings," hence the translation of "Finest Four." If that helps, please add it back into the article for me. I'm not sure how to reference it. -- Yoshiaki Abe 23:13, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
My (limited) translation is "I am General Kelbesque. I'm one of the Draygonia Empire's shitenno." I can't find a printed script and I don't know how we can cite one frame in a video, but the term "shitenno" is provably used for the "Finest Four". 66.244.82.92 ( talk) 04:09, 13 November 2019 (UTC)
What happened to the bit about Ralph and Clark from Joel also being from the KoF series? Was that deleted for lack of references? If so, that was something else I nicked from the Japanese wikipedia article on God Slayer. At the very end, it says:
This section literally translates as "relations" and lists all four characters and where they come from. In English:
Hopefully this can be added in again now that it has a reference. Problem is I don't know how to add references to other language versions of wikipedia. Congrats on GA status, btw! -- Yoshiaki Abe 00:58, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm under the impression that there are MANY aspects of this game that could be better addressed. I'm looking for anyone who has a good understanding of some of the more symbolic elements of the game... and someone might want to mention that the 'Fallout' game alludes to 'crystalis' in it's opening scene. ANYONE who feels like talking please drop me a note at bandaidsrcool on yahoo.
