The Ugandan government has rapidly been subdividing districts, creating new ones. As of August 2012, there are 111, as is shown in the only reference in this article, http://www.statoids.com/uug.html. However, this article lists only 78 districts.— Quick and Dirty User Account ( talk) 21:56, 21 August 2012 (UTC) reply

As for the removal of the word "also": the relevant quotes from the source are: "ISO 3166-2 Newsletter Number I-9 was published on 2007-11-28.... The newsletter listed alternate names for four districts:... Maracha (Maracha-Terego),..." and "Other names of subdivisions:... Nyadri: Maracha-Terego, Maracha (variant)..." In other words, Maracha District (not "the" Maracha District!) was already known by that name at the time of its creation; it just happens it was also called by other names. Counties no more?

Are there any articles or references or links that say that the counties are no longer in use, due to the recent increase of districts being created in the past 7-8 years? As most districts are directly subdivided into sub-counties; despite the fact that almost every district is subdivided into just one county. jlog3000 ( talk) 00:41, 4 July 2023 (UTC) reply
