Purportedly?
Even then we kept track of where kings were killed, didn't we?

I have uploaded three photos showing the Corfe Castle-dominated gap in the Purbeck Hills but am not sure which one best illustrates the article (I used Image:Corfe Castle gap 2.JPG, but maybe 3 is better as it shows the length of the hills best)

This article really needs splitting into Corfe Village and Corfe Castle, I can't believe someone hasn't mentioned it already. The castle and the village are seperate entities, which should have been made obvious by the sheer amount of categories it's currently filling. MasterOfHisOwnDomain ( talk) 17:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
I propose changing the above WikiProject's 'importance' rating of this article from 'High' to 'Mid', the reason being that this article is only concerned with the village - the castle (which I agree is of high importance) has its own article. PaleCloudedWhite ( talk) 22:32, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Corfe Castle and
Corfe Castle, Dorset. Most people from farther away know the castle and fewer know the settlement. This should be village. I mean, the castle is still in Dorset, not somewhere else.

Is the official name of the village Corfe or Corfe Castle? The website http://corfe-castle.co.uk always mentions "Corfe". -- 87.149.37.218 ( talk) 08:32, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: moved with unanimous support. At the nominator's suggestion, Corfe Castle, Dorset will be redirected to the castle itself. Xoloz ( talk) 01:41, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
Corfe Castle, Dorset →
Corfe Castle (village) – Both the castle and village are called "Corfe Castle", and both are located in Dorset. Therefore "Corfe Castle, Dorset" is itself ambiguous and could equally apply to both of them. The term used for disambiguation should actually be unambiguous, and (village) does that.
The castle is at the base name as primary topic, and IMO that's correct. If moved Corfe Castle, Dorset should be redirected to either the castle or the dab. Nilf anion ( talk) 22:10, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
