- There is a website, Stageagent.com, which is a proffesional site for actors in the US. It contains details of Operas, Plays and musicals. The StEx page starts with 'Starlight Express is a nine-year-old boy's dream'. ElphaPearl ( talk) 12:55, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- That site also states that the Rockies are cameo roles, who are members of Greaseball's Gang. Both pieces of information are inaccurate. They mis-spell "Dina", and consider her to be a cameo not a principal, and Ashley and Buffy to be cameos not secondary leads. Their cast list doesn't include Flat-top, Dustin and Caboose, yet includes Prince of Wales who is often cut. In short, it's pretty clear that site is full of errors and is not a reliable reference. - I was under the impression that fansites were not reliable for Wikipedia references.
- Sometimes Control is definitely a boy (US tour 2). Sometimes Control is voiced by a boy (early German). Sometimes Control is voiced by a girl (current German). Sometimes an adult woman pretending to be a child (Later London). There is no definite answer as to Control's gender as it varies from one production to the next. - There is a reveiw of Starlight Express on the internet. I can't remeber the name of the website, but it is professional. It tells readers that Control is infact a nine year old boy. I also believe that he was a boy in every US production, including 'on Ice'. I will look into that one before making any changes. If any one could support that theory, then please do! - This review you speak of probably references the site you mentioned earlier. Just because something is published does not make it fact! Whether or not the US productions were voiced by boys, the two most recent productions are voiced by girls, with London having been voiced by an adult woman. This means there is no definitive right or wrong answer whether Control is male or female.
- If your research can discover the names of all the people who have voiced Control, that would be useful information to have here. I think there might have been an intermediate German Control - I don't think it was the Borchardt twins before Jo Marie Dominaik recorded it. Also is there a reference for Nancy Wood having voiced the original London? Which US production did Lori Flynn voice - US tour 1 or Las Vegas? What about the US tour 2? - Ahh, Anna was always very good at getting information. Technically you shouldn't rely on fansites for research, but I know Anna worked hard and very carefully verified the information on her site. - What on EARTH would a "British" accent sound like? Some bizarre conglomeration of all local accents? She didn't sound American, she sounded English. However, there were a couple of lines kept from the 2nd US tour recording, the American boy - "It's Racetime, folks!" WAS in an American accent. Belle pullman ( talk) 20:57, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- On youtube, there is a video of the song 'Pre Race Four' From the 07 UK tour. At the end of the song, Control says 'trains to your tracks' in a clearly american accent.
