The quote by Bacal completely confuses the issue. Bacal is saying conflict avoidance is the same as avoiding treatment for a disease once it has been contracted. Apart from being a pointless metaphor rather than a solid example that illustrates the subject of the article, Bacal hasn't even managed a sensible metaphor. Avoiding conflict is not the same as avoiding disease. You can often avoid conflict using the similar methods before and during any given conflict. You can rarely use preventative measures to cure disease once you have contracted it. Also, there is no discussion of what conflict prevention actually is, and how it is relevant to conflict avoidance. This quote fails to illustrate conflict avoidance, fails a test of relevance and even fails as a decent metaphor. Maybe I'm just missing the point totally. Can anyone defend it? 203.161.10.6 ( talk) 01:57, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
