I created a template of CompTIA certs and added it to this page. If anyone feels it does not belong here, or has any criticism of the table itself, please let me know. Thanks Paul 23:15, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
I've merged all the CompTIA certificate articles (majority of them stubby) into this article. — Quarl ( talk) 12:14, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
My opinion is that this article could use some information on what kind of things are covered on the A+ exam. -- 207.181.42.20 19:05, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)
I added some additional description and the detailed exam objectives from the exam sponsor web site. Hope this is helpful — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.190.121.34 ( talk) 21:37, 12 January 2005
Since earlier versions of this article were available that did not appear to be (verifiably, anyway) copyright violations, the article should have been reverted to one of them rather than moved for deletion. So I have merged the histories of the main article and the /Temp page. This has left the /Temp version as the current revision, but anyone can revert to a non-copyvio version when they want to. - Splash talk 03:56, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
The
A+ prep book I am using is A+ Certification All-in-One by Michael Meyers/Scott Jernigan. I will let you know how well it works after I take the exam. So far the material seems pretty solid, and there are lots of illustrations to help with identification of equipment. Pretty well-written, from what I've read so far.
Maybe we can include some of the most common A+ prep books in the article.

I merged A+ (and all the other CompTIA certification articles) to CompTIA. The A+ page is now a disambiguation page. — Quarl ( talk) 12:14, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
I'm quite positive CompTIA is actually a non-profit organization, unless the information given by my Security+ workbook is wrong/now inaccurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.20.199.64 ( talk) 01:50, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
It is a nonprofit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.247.246.141 ( talk) 16:14, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
A person is quoted named "Michael Meyers" but there is no link to him and no explanation of who he is or why his opinion is cited. I know who Michael Myers is from the "Halloween" movies but I don't think that's who is meant as I can't recall any reference to network certification in those films. Maybe I missed it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarkJake ( talk • contribs) 17:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Do the Linux guys really need to get in squabbles whenever their topic comes up? They go on here about how much more difficult Red Hat certifications are....does anyone reading this page care?? One sentence mentioning other Linux exams would do. Retroguy90 ( talk) —Preceding comment was added at 00:09, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm thinking of a radical-ish re-write of this section, if there are no strong objections. Firstly, the (unfavourable) comparison between RHCE and Linux+ is not valid, IMHO. Linux+ is an entry-level certification, while RHCE is for experienced professionals. Linux+ is a 90-minute multiple choice exam, while RHCE involves a 5-hour practical as well as 1-hour multiple choice. It's a little like comparing Network+ with CCIE - they're aimed at different markets. The more valid comparison is with LPIC1.
Also, I'm not sure whether the reference to the Intenational Information and Communication Technology Council has a place here. Their certifications seem to be particularly obscure (I wasn't able to find more than a couple of thousand references via Google, compared to more than 100,000 for Linux+). Robhogg ( talk) 00:31, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like an update for Linux+ is needed, current exams are LX0-103, and LX0-104, not 101/2. Just sayin'. BS ( talk) 20:29, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Doesn't anyone have a list? -- Ramu50 ( talk) 18:47, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I think that this should be included in the article, but I don't know if it might fall under WP:CBALL. It's been announced according to the article, but I have not heard of the certification, it may still be in its design phase. [2] Sephiroth storm ( talk) 03:13, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
All those CompTIA's in the section headings seems overly redundant, see this edit. -- OlEnglish ( Talk) 04:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
This article should begin with a short description of Network+. That is what a person looking up an item in a dictionary or encyclopedia expects. Instead, the article begins with background information about CompTIA. Interesting, but only after Network+ is discussed. LeeTechwriter ( talk) 15:06, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Added info about the new cert from Comptia CTP+. Ksofen666 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.110.194.2 ( talk) 19:13, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
reference #1 talking about the change in certificate term length is deadlink.
I just added a redirect (my first ever in Wikipedia) of "CSA+" to the article, "CompTIA," since the CSA+ cert was renamed to CySA+ ..CySA+ already points to CompTIA. Have a great day. --Peter aka Vid2vid ( talk) 01:28, 10 September 2019 (UTC). (I was here and renamed the Topic, shortened. From Peter a.k.a. Vid2vid ( talk) 17:37, 25 January 2020 (UTC))
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9JKRItHDME Info needs to be added to their/CompTIA's page - it's a recording of proceedings before a Maine legislative board. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VeekM ( talk • contribs) 17:09, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
