Materials

This article does an excellent job describing the thermal properties of different types of clothing, though what I came here looking for was the thermal properties of various materials for a given type of clothing. For example, a 3cm thick winter coat made out of down vs. polyester fill, or a T shirt made out of nylon vs. cotton. I assume the macro properties like density of weave, and ambient conditions like wind and wetness, all go into the calculation, and that would all be interesting to explore. Headwear

I am surprised that headwear (hat, cap, hood) is not mentioned. Per weight and volume it probably provides the most insulation. If your feet are cold, put on a hat. I tested that once and found it to be very true. DirkvdM ( talk) 11:30, 14 February 2022 (UTC) reply
