We need to say something about how she came to be born in Sydney. Were her parents just temporarily there? What's the story of why and when she went to the UK? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 08:46, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Most of the edits made by User:Rms125a@hotmail.com are harmless: otiose, but a matter of personal taste, yet some are deleterious: there is one howler, turning the English "the daughter of the opera singer Cicely Nott", into the American/tabloidese "the daughter of opera singer Cicely Nott", a formation technically known as a preposed appositive, I believe, and one not used in good writing by British authors. This article, naturally enough for a DBE, is in British English, not American. The excessive length of the sentence inflicted by the change is unhelpful to the reader, too. When I write about American subjects I follow American spelling and phrasing (and have my prose checked by an American Wiki-colleague); it would be nice to have a reciprocal courtesy extended by Rms125a@hotmail.com. I have no views on the "Sydney" category, and leave it to others, perhaps JackofOz, to comment. – Tim riley ( talk) 17:25, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
