This isn't a fake company it was very, America government and big corporations love blowing smoke
kiProject Business & Economics|class=start|importance=mid}}
I think this company is bogus, meaning fictitious, made up by the communist john perkins, to substantiate his stories.
Does it have any connections to the NSA?
A quick google search shows abundant independent evidence that the company existed during the period covered by Perkins' book. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aseriesoftubes ( talk • contribs) 23:20, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Agreed, it took me all of 5 minutes to discover that the Northeastern University Library in Boston records show they have
0.15ft³ of records for Chas. T. Main, Inc.
This collection documents the various topics of research and work done by Chas. T. Main, Inc. in areas of engineering, such as electrical, hydroelectric, and mechanical. The collection contains an index of articles written by and about Chas T. Main, Inc. and related fields of engineering. The index indicates topic, title, author, location, and date the article was presented. This collection also includes a reprint of an address given at the 1975 National Meeting of the Newcomen Society by W. M. Hall and C. A. Dauber about the history of Chas. T. Main, Inc.
A quick search for publications by Chas. T. Main, Inc. yielded the following results (this is only part of the results)
A quick Google Books searched found
Legal references? I only did a cursory search - there are many.
I'd be very surprised if a day spent in Boston libraries going through newspaper records, and Boston court records wouldn't produce volumes of additional evidence of the companies existence.
Did Chas. T. Main, Inc. do projects in Indonesia?

Hi! In fact, don't running a website as a company doesn't mean that the company possibly doesn't exist. Is there any public register where a civilian can validate that this company exists? That's a huge problem in our system... Free enterprise economy is a great thing... But without market- and company-monitoring for perusal, those articles can't be validated... Happy X-mas! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.187.21.65 ( talk) 19:08, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
According to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit, it's a real company. See Chas. T. Main International, Inc. v. Khuzestan Water & Power Authority, et al., 500 F. Supp. 1162 aff'd 651 F.2d800. The opening paragraph at the Court of Appeal says,
Chas. T. Main International, Inc. (Main) is an engineering firm incorporated in Massachusetts and having its principal place of business in Boston. On November 20, 1979, Main brought suit in the District Court for the District of Massachusetts against the government of Iran and various Iranian governmental entities to obtain payment for services it had rendered in Boston and Iran in connection with certain Iranian electrification projects...
You can fake a web page, perhaps, but you can't fake a Court of Appeal decision.
