I cleaned this article up, but don't know when I'll be able to view the Louisiana reports for more information about him (where there may be some type of memorial article). I hope someone in Louisiana will be able to fill in the gaps, even if just to check whether he was a member of the Louisiana Historical Association (which has a wikipedia article but which begins in the 19th century tho it was founded in 1889 while he was still alive) or the Louisiana Historical Society per the prior article.
